Fiesta 1.6 tdci 90ps, thoughts?

Featured Replies

Looking at replacing the fabia, due to no end of problems.

Not really sure what I want next but the fiesta sportvan has caught my eye.

Basically a fiesta zetec s 1.6 tdci without rear seats and panel windows :D

Anyone on here have any experiances with the duratorque engine, pros and cons?

I enjoyed the last fiesta i drove as it handled really well.

the duratorque is a rebadged PSA 1.6hdi

they tune ok but like most small diesels tend to be hard on transmissions.

Not really bothered about tuning this one ;)

Plan is to buy back my old golf mk2 and run that as a "toy" and have the van for a daily driver :D

I suppose they are good little engines then??

engine is generally ok , some oil leak issues , turbos can go if oil changes neglected, water pumps can leak , EGR valves stick

it will be less stressed in the Fiesta bodyshell , so should give less trouble than say a focus/Volvo S40

Done 5,000 miles since new in my Zetec 5dr 1.6 TDCI and Im very happy with it. Standard its pretty nippy but over the last 1000 miles the remap has proved a very good investment! :o

MPG is superb - 440 miles is the worst from a tank - thats 100% town driving!

Expect 60mpg on a long motorway run. :)

the 110bhp one in a relatives focus is a nice car and runs well :)
