N95 Vs N96

Featured Replies

gotcha, i have set my work phone to make no noises other than ring because of this :)

Yep, I hear you on the BT issue Col. If i found that the '96 would work fully with Alpine HUs, I'd upgrade straight away

Charge from USB would certainly be handy, no doubt. It's currently a wasted opportunity IMO.

Steve

Should charge from USB as will use the new micro USB connector

The N95 will work with HU's etc, but needs a patch (free from Nokia website).

IIRC the patch is the same as the one listed as being carkit specific.

If you can point me in the direction of this said patch, I'll gladly try it. Don't think I've not tried every solution I've thought possible and feasible :)

If it's the fabled '810 Nokia Carkit' download/patch, it doesn't work - least not with an Alpine iDA-X001 anyway.

Alpine HU vs. Nokia N95: still yields a Nokia victory!

Cheers,

Steve

Does look nice that Mike, running Windows Mobile. Would have been nice to see a 5MP camera in there though, rather than 3.2.

Steve

yeah but its certainly something to consider over the 96. I know which i'll be going for!

price is the same too

release september(america)

here jan i think. Just in time for my renewal

I think that is one of them Steve.

Sadly they used to have a link to the official N95 patch from the N95 support pages. Been pulled, so part of newer firmware versions? V13 or v20 onwards I would guess.

No worries mate, thanks anyway

Running 21.0.016 ATM which is the latest to my knowledge? None of the firmware upgrades has made any difference for me with regards 'proper' BT communication, since getting the phone with v11.

Cheers,

Steve
