New Fabia VRS in paper today!

Featured Replies

Well it was the S2000 prototype but the newspaper man said it was going to be the base for the next VRS. I think it was in the Sun Motor section or the Daily Record.

Must be true if it's in the Sun, or is that the Daily Sport...............:)

The sun doesn't count as a newpaper. It serves a better purpose as a base to build a fire on.

The Sun  great bog roll.

Must be true..lol

I was told there was a notiication on the dealers Desktop system that the vRS was now under consideration as Skoda may not build one at all.

They'd be fools not to, commercially speaking. The 'current' vRS sold really well - accounts for a large percentage of Fabias on the road.

lol cos all briskodians read the guardian and te financial times eh

I don't read any... the print makes me sneeze.

I am going stop reading any thread that mentions "new" and "VRS" in the title as I value my sanity and reading the same rumours for the 20,000th time will probably push me over the edge.

The Fabia is confirmed but really is going to be 2010.

Thought I might have a go on the 'new vrs' bandwagon. It's not as much fun as I thought it would be. The S2000 still looks nice though.

The Sun is usually most useful to catch the things that fall out of my roll at breakfast time. Takes me 5 minutes to 'read' it, and 3 of them were at page 3.

Hows the funds going though? Must be doing well for every thread by now.

Confirmed by whom? Do you have Reinhard Jung's number?

No it's not. Don't believe everything autocar print.

Well after I bought Canada, Microsoft, Shell and Jaguar I only had enough left for a weekend break to Skegness so I suppose I could do with a few more rumours so I can get the funds together to buy that big hotel in Dubai:D

What % in the UK?

And what % in other markets?

Do you have hard facts? Or is this just based on your observations as you drive about?

Most relevant info I could find in 5 minutes on Google.....

Another success story has been the performance of the new Octavia vRS TDI and the vRS brand in general. The third model in the acclaimed vRS product line, the vRS TDI, has proved an instant hit with buyers and now accounts for 34.5%of total Octavia vRS sales. The equally entertaining Fabia vRS continues to sell strongly and represents 6.8% of overall Skoda sales in the year to date, a remarkable achievement. In total, all vRS models (including Fabia vRS) represent 12.2% of Skoda's YTD sales and an even more impressive 13.6% of Skoda's October sales.

Go to Prague and see how many Fabia VRS's you see.

I was there a week and saw....... 0

I saw thousands of Fabias but no VRS. It doesn't sell in Europe. It's just us Brits who like big chins and smoke and the British market is only a small part of the overall market. The numbers probably don't add up.

You can sit at your keyboards and speculate all you want, it's not going to change the fact there isn't one. I would be inclined not to worry about it and get on with my life. It's only a car.

In the UK, yes - elsewhere no

That is correct, at least according to Skoda customer services UK.;)

My dealer tells me 2010, not rushing as only markets U.K & Germany for model.

States delay is due to issues fitting engine & gearbox into car ??

Sounds bizarre excuse , What are they fitting?

Regarding some previous comments why bothered about VRS model. What other car gives you decent room, 4 doors, 50+ mpg, decent performance and low ins gp for such a good price, I cant find one. Many people appreciate this unique package.
