Just got My New Vrs

Featured Replies

Just picked up my new TDi vrs with the jumbo, alloys etc and all I can say is what a car. I've had to adopt a different driving approach from my old oct 4x4 (throttle to the floor in all gears) but my only compliant is a little orange light that keeps coming on in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear;) (and yes I am taking it steady)

I will post some piccies when I can get on the other comp to re-size them but it's a silver estate with the dark rear glass

I'm thinking of getting the mfd2 fitted but not sure which one to go for as I've had a parrot hands free kit installed but I would like a system that I can put the speed cameras on. Has anyone any ideas or should I just stick to my tom tom

Orange light = new tyres every 6k. :D

Congrats on the new car! Hope you'll have plenty of trouble free and thrilling miles with it.

Saying you've just picked up a _new_ vrs tdi, would this be one with the new cr engine? If so, could you post some experiences about it perhaps compared to the pd engines (ie engine sound, smoothness, pulling..)?

And of course, the famous last words:

THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICS!

Enjoy your new car:thumbup:

Here are the pics. It's the PD engine as to be honest I've never had a problem with my old 4x4 with the pd engine and you got the jumbo box, alloys & climatronic & rear elec windows thrown in. I was expecting it to be a lot harsher than it is but perhaps I'm easily pleased. It's got the rear parking sensors & privacy glass - It's also got a multi play cd in the boot which I wasn.t expecting and will never get used so if anyone wants it let me know. It seems to handle pretty well (dunlop tyres) but is hard to get going in the wet (after coming from a 4x4 a delicate touch is required). I'm thinkng of the mfd2 upgrade but as I've had a parrot system fitted and got a tom tom don't know whether I can justify it or not.

Nice!

looks good

very smart, congrats:)

I have the mfd3 (Columbus) which I think is awesome, and it will be even better once I get the bt kit installed too. Given the choice I would go with oem kit everytime, but even getting an mfd2 and bt kit won't be cheap.

Tomtom and parrot units are excellent in there own right, unless you can sell them on at a good price I think I'd probably stick with them.

Have to admit, a very handsome looking ride!

There's nothing wrong with the pd engine. I had one in my furby vrs and I liked it. I was just being curious about the possibility of you having the cr engine. The cr engine is actually the one that has a lot to prove. It has to be a really excellent engine to out perform the pd engine. And it'll be interesting to see, when I get my vrs, wether it'll be as impressive 'cause from what I've heard it lacks the "power punch" we've all come to like in the pd engine.

I tested a vrs with the pd engine and found absolutely nothing wrong with it, would have been totally satisfied with it just as well.

Anyway, enjoy your new car!
