Hi all!

Had a phonecall today about my octy,a linkage has broken in the gearbox which is covered on the warranty so thats being fixed.

Although my clutch is 75% worn,as Lummox said its a wear and tear item so wont be covered ,so its going to cost £200 to replace the clutch.

They said if you get the clutch renewed now you'll only be paying £200 but if i was to leave it,and say in another 5000 miles the clutch went it would cost me £500 coz they'd have to take the gearbox out again to replace it.

So should be back on the road friday or saturday morning

So not only was it the gearbox at fault it was the clutch aswel, this is the only problem iv had with the car in the 10 months iv had it,but it must of had something to do with the previous owner so i know it wasnt my fault

Cant wait till weekend now:)

Ask them if they can do a bit off the clutch for you as I find that 5-10% shouldn't be hard to obtain. Sure it's not much but all they can do is say no.

I'm quite liking that estate :( Looks better than the hatch

Lots of estates seem to these days... although IMHO not that hard a task for the MK II fabia hatch was not blessed with the looks.
