Hi All,

New to the forum and only 1500 miles onto my new Octavia vRS 2.0 TFSI. Looking to start adding mods when cash frees up and by some miracle maybe fuel gets cheaper? ;-)

I'm generally not into interior mods, but i've just fitted alloy rings to the climatronic controls and headlight master switch, and I'm very pleased with the look of them i.e. they look like factory fit. Do a quick search on this forum for 'climatronic rings' for pics e.g.

Thanks for your feedback Les - this was the first mod i opted for - so simple yet effective!! Chrome additions look classy and superb. I'm very interested in moving on to the bluetooth and MFD upgrade options too.

No cost mods:

- Climatronic on/off button (if you have climatronic)

- Blip-blip on locking and unlocking via remote (if you have alarm)

- Auto windows closing without holding the button on remote

- Seatbelt warning by unplugging the plug bellow the seat

Low cost mods:

- Chrome rings arround climatronic/climatic buttons

- Chrome ring arround lights switch

- Chrome ring arround mirrors kn0b

Blip-blip and auto windows have to be enabled with VagCom. Unplugged seatbelt plug gives no error on dash and is not detected by error-reader.

If you need, ask for more info.

unplugging the seatbelt sensor iirc messes with the safety features when you have an accident. the seat belt light can easily be knocked off with vag com without affecting the cars safety.

auto windows is that when you hold the key down to open/close windows? if so i think mine has it but i cant find the option in maxidot.

nope, youd need to buy a new convenience unit to get more maxidot functions. bit of a shame really as I wouldnt have minded rain closing on mine :(

I have MaxiDot but not that function. Had to be done by VagCom. My car is 06 model

I've got Micro-Can VagCom interface from french dealer (ross-tech) for 270 euros, delivery included. There is a ross-tech dealer in UK too. For more info visit www.ross-tech.com

Actually i may be wrong here. I thought the ATA Confirm option (under the Convenience menu) let you choose between 0,1 & 2 blips, but I have just checked and it doesn't, it simply turns the single blip on or off.. .
