Removing rear badge?

Featured Replies

Im thinking of debadging the car, and would like to remove the 'skoda' badge on the boot.

Is it flush underneath, or will it leave an indented circle where the badge was?

Thanks! :)

On the Octy vRS, it leaves two holes into the boot lid for the locator lugs on the badge, but no indent circle.

I replaced the rear skoda badge on mine,it takes a wee while to prise off and like beretta has said it leaves two holes in the bootlid

Try wrapping a cloth around a small flat scredriver but be patient,it wont come off straight away

Another well tried way to remove it is with fishing line, no chance of scratching the paintwork that way.

fishing wire indeed is what I did on mine... after that I welded the holes, sanded and had the trunk repainted... looking much better imho

Did my Octavia and vRS badges with some dental floss, and some Autoglym tar remover

used RAC card and paint thinner

Stunning!

I took mine off and replaced it with a VRS logo from ebay. Looks much better.

Used dental floss and tar remover on mine.

Only took them off to replace with a full set of brand new ones as they had all faded and become weathered..

Each to their own but i can't see the point of de-badging a Skoda.

Personally the Skoda badge is the best bit, your kind of making a statement.

Also why do people take the vRS badge off, very strange? :thumbdwn:

I took all the badges, the rear wiper and the spoiler off my vRS.

I did it so I would have a low profile "sleeper" look.

I replaced the Skoda badge with a retro one.

I used a small flat-bladed screwdriver and levered it against a piece of cork but I knew I was getting the boot lid re-sprayed so I didn't have to faff about with dental floss.

Missed the whole point of posting here.

I've debadged every car i've ever had, i just prefer the look.

The thing is, a badge doesn't really say much. Being theres soo many cars driven round with incorrect badges (how many BMWs do you see with M badges, when they are blatantly 316s?), its not as if you can trust them.

Also, a debadged rear of a vRS is fairly subtle, so you can supprise people, who think they are sat behind a taxi
