vRS service and knocking

Featured Replies

My Fabia vRS is telling me that it's due for a service in 700 miles despite the fact that it's only done 8600 miles so far. I was under the impression it was going to last for 10000 miles or one year before needing servicing.

How far over the mileage/time allowances can you go before Skoda start getting snotty about the warranty?

Recently I've started to get a knocking from somewhere up front. It's not always audible, but you can feel it through the steering wheel, particularly when turning sharply or on rough surfaces (and especially both!). My thoughts are steering or suspension (obvious really!). Anyone got any more specific suggestions so that the dealer doesn't try and bu****it me when I take it in?

One presumes that at such low mileage that your car still under the original manufacturer's warranty? Therefore what's the barrier to getting the knocking checked out at a main dealers?

No problem at all, except that's the problem. I have a low opinion of main dealers and I want to make sure that the fix the problem and don't give me the brush off.

Anti roll bar drop links. If they do not replace them under warranty, make them replace them under warranty.

Mines done it from day one, I've been told by the garage that it's just the poor quality of the material that they're made of! or as they like to put it, 'thats the characteristicts of the car sir' -Get some poly ones!

I'm talking rubbish, It's the bushes that you need poly ones of!!!

John you're correct. Service is 10k or one year, therefore take it for a service as close to 10k as possible, best probably to go slightly earlier rather than later.

As suggested its likely to be the drop links, mine were making a heck of a noise by the first service and have now began knocking again :( Either way if its under warranty the garage should fix it
