Is this power the limit of the VRS?

Featured Replies

After talking with Multon last night about cars mine is currently running 235 according to the RR printout.

Is this the limit for the car before it starts getting very expensive?

So far for power the mods are -

Jabba Sport Induction Kit

Bailey DV

Full Miltek Exhaust System

Sports De-cat

AmD Re-Map

It'd be nice to get to the 300 mark but what are you talking to get there?

Thanks in advance

I would say yes, assuming thats your power after a custom map then your looking at changing turbo and getting into spending four figures.

Sorry yes it's a custom map

yes, looking at new turbo/fmic/injectors/clucth/diff etc with the required fitting and mapping to suit.

expect atleast £1000 - £1500 in parts alone to get you to 300bhp and thats not touching the brakes/suspension/transmission to match.

doing it as cheap as possible its still gonna cost £2500 - £3000 at least to get over the 300bhp mark in a sensible fashion but you really are shopping around and buying from all over the world to do it.

I think it'd have to be new car time wouldn't it, such a shame as i really love the VRS.

Whats the Mk2 like for power gains? :P

better but they also cost more to buy and weigh more ;)

why would that mean new car time? you can buy a mk2 2nd hand for say 11k then spend a further 4k getting it to nearly 300bhp with decent suspension and brakes which in the end will cost you 11k after selling your car or you could spend 4-5k on your current car and have 350bhp+ if you shop around.

more power, less wieght and thousands of pounds better off :)

It all sounds good in theory BUT how reliable would that be?

I'd still like the car to be a daily driver.

l like the skyline you showed me mate

The limiting factor will be getting the power down, as you head past 250 bhp fwd starts to struggle. If you are heading well above that a Limited slip diff is a must & even then the 4x4 is the real answer

I think as it was said in a previous post, it would end up that far modified from factory standard it would cease to be a skoda octavia any more.

Still a Skoda Octavia, just not really a vRS any more

And who cares whether it ceases to be a 'real' vrs anymore, whatever that means. Beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that. If you have a 350hp vrs then it's still a vrs but tweaked to suit the purposes of the owner. Nothing wrong in that.

just as if not more reliable than standard :)

don't love it that much then ey...

what is your priority? owning a VRS, braking the 300 barrier? performing modifications till you reach the full potential of the car?

I know what he wants 300BHP for. Mmmmmmmmm
