I have a Octy Vrs Mk 1 and it is time to say goodbye, unfortunatley due to circumstances i cant afford to run it anymore, i have only had it since feb 07 and its on a 04 plate 38'000 miles mint condition and i have had no problems with it, apart from an accident when someone dedcided to not stop at the lights behind me. Does anyone know how much they think i could get for this? Any one sold one recently? I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with it and now will look forward to driving something a lot slower and smaller lol, but i hope to be back one day.

Unfortunately due to the current economy and people getting a bit twitchy this may be a common statement with both owners and potential owners. The problem with that is that supply of performance cars is going to exceed demand and therefore prices will be driven lower :(

May I ask what it is that is causing the problem? Fule costs, insurance, maintenance costs ect.? I've always been supprised at how cheap mine has been to keep on the road. Obviously more expensive than my 1.4 306 but not drastically so. I even managed 39 MPG in my vRS on the last tank :eek:

Only £3k for a 53 plate!? Has it been to the moon and back because I've just traded my 02 plate with average miles in and got £3700 for it... it's up for sale for £5k now, hey ho!

Just one of those pricing websites recommended, looked a bit off... its only on 53k

I'v just sold my 04 vRS for £4200. It had 92k on the clock and the exterior was near perfect. The market for 01> performance cars is near dead, so the best you can hope for is £4200. Give it 2 months and the best you could hope for will be £3000.

51 octy Vrs well below average miles - just took it in to see about p/x - offered me £2k. Main dealer too.......

Was that at Slacks? They offered me c£1,800 less than the three other dealers I have been to, so it might be worth trying elsewhere.

Fuel price......nothing can be done about that and it will be going up again.

Road fund tax.....it only works out at about a £1 a week

and as for getting a slower car ....go diesel and go quicker

What do you mean by the road tax comment?

I've just chopped my RS in for a MK4 Golf TDi, not missing it at all so far. To be fair I think I must have had a bad example because I can safely say it's been the worst car I've ever owned.
