i can get MM53 VRS for £250 quid. Not bad! I was after a mat plate, but was £1500ish. I did see m477hew was £20k + lol

I looked for M4RTY a few years back, £25-30 thousand!!! No ta

Just recently looked for FUR8Y but must have been bought coz not available. FUR3Y was but over £5K :finger:

Ive got JA53 VRS, JASE VRS maybe ;)

yeah, I'd much rather drive an SL 55 AMG than fork out the £80,000+ that those letters on a plate cost.

Private plates are cool aslong as they look like something ...... to others and not just yourself

don't know about mine though

i have S19 GNS

£250 from DVLA but currently on my dads doblo until i get round to transferring it onto my car.

could have had S1 GNS but i'm sure it was around £15k

The reason i only payed 10% Coz F letter is the only Prefix plates that the DVLA havnt brought out yet! They have gone thought all the other letters!

Will pay the rest in september and plate on car in oct when it realesed!

Did you pay the 10% direct to the DVLA or to a dealer?

How did you put a deposit on a 'F' reg plate,as they are not released yet?

DVLA Reconised company! Friends and family got plates from there!

Be careful.

Sounds potentially suspect to me.

I can't find any links on the DVLA website to "Recognised Companies"

Thanks mate for sounding caring thou family member checked up on them before via DVLA!

I like private plates - as long as they're not trying too hard using mis-spacing and coloured screw covers etc.

I'd like one but I can always find something better to spend the money on.

"VRM TSH" is available - which I think is amusing. :)

Is it from a 3rd party company?

If so they will charge you a premium on top of the DVLA price where you could get it cheaper if you went direct.

Have they guaranteed to get you that plate?

What happens if they can't?

Have they give you a fixed price?

I have purchased 2 plates directly off them and wouldn't do it any other way.

J888JMD and J#Y MD both for £250 each.

Sorry guys what i mean is that i brought a plate off the Dvla! the prefix style! Not going on Fiesta on my Fabia vrs!

Wanted your views! on getting one!

Bought man ... bought not brought :)

I have one, but only because the family bought it for my 40th birthday, I personally would not part with my own cash for one, there is far more good can be done to a car with £250 ish quid imho. Springs / RARB / etc etc....

J#Y MD was part of my 30th present form the wife.

I paid 250, wouldnt spend much more than 500. Those who say they wouldnt waste there money are boring and prob cant part with there cash. Tight!!!

Up to £500 could be put to much better use on a Fabia vRS though, a plate really tidies up the handling and prevents dive on the brakes or even helps slow you down just like a 312mm setup :D:D:D

A private plate is good for about 30bhp IIRC

I was thinking the same.

How is it meant to work?

I guess they will announce a launch date (currently says October but no further details) and then I assumed it would be first come first served.

Would be surprised / annoyed if they do back-hander type deals with private companies.

Combine it with a magic tree air freshener and nobody would be safe, we would all be "taken like kings" :D

Apart from the handling considerations listed above , maybe if you spent some time and money to help you type with correct punctuation and spell in something that approximates English it might be a better investment, for you and for people trying to interpret your posts.

Its taken me a while to work out what this thread about, but then I'm old and probably not the sharpest chisel in the tool-box. :)
