New PC up and running

Sounds more like a thread hijack to me mate!

Yeah, I suppose your PC is ok, but I bet your jealous you don't have to p*ss about with it.

Sorry :(

WRT Chris...

Regarding the fan, I don't think it actually needs to spin up to 4k rpm, it's just up to the fan to deal with the pwm signal, but it does depends a bit on how the system has been implemented. eg it's a duty cycle so if the fan speed max is 1600rpm then if the thing is done correctly when going 100% on PWM it will spin at that and at say 50% it will spin slower.

I take it the heat sink isn't changeable. I have had some success with the artic silver compounds for reducing CPU temps so it might be worth doing that if you decide to keep it.

I can see no sign of any fans that are likely to be any better than the 7 blade item I have in the case already. I have remounted the heatsink (it was fine) and will try it out again tonight. Wont try my arctic silver paste on it until I have definite answer from Aria.

Ref Simons case, that is an excellent looking bit of kit. Wish I had gone something like that now.

Chris
