washer fluıd flashes inessentially

Featured Replies

Hi all

I tried some adjustment on my car (Oct II, 1Z chasis, 2006) via VAGCOM (licensed Ros-Tech).

“Instument options

17 – instruments

07 – recode

00??x0x

??=

00 = no options

+01 = brake pad monitoring

+02 = Seat belt warning

+04 = Washer fluid warning

(add the option numbers together for the right number i.e: all three = 07 or to turn off seatbelt warning 01+04=05)”

Made it “7” but althought my washer fluıd thank is full, On maxidot monitor, washer fluıd pump flashes intermitetly.

Why does this happen?

if anyone of you can help me, will be appreciated.

Faulty sensor I would guess.

Was is already enabled or have you tried to enable it?

thanks for all speedy reply.

applied following procedures via vagcom:

"17 – instruments

07 – recode

00??x0x

??=

00 = no options

+01 = brake pad monitoring

+02 = Seat belt warning

+04 = Washer fluid warning"

So before that, it was 3, and added 4 to it. Totall is 7. The result is intermitently flashing orange display and words of "top up washer fluid" on maxi dot.

By the way ı Think my car is not very old and it's only 2006 elegance. Could it be possible "the fault of sensor"

cheers.........

Elegence should have the sensor, so its not as if you have enabled something that does not have a sensor on the other end.

I would say it's more likely not fitted.

Sorry couldn't understand exactly. Do you mean that this feature is standard in OCT elagance and default setting is included an activated washer fluid sensor?

But my elegance's setting was not included. Because when looking to settings via vagcom, Default value was 3 (+1 brake and +2seat belt warning).

And The issue of flashing Washer F. Warning has become after making this value "7".

I think if it was fitted it would have been enabled, clearly you have enabled it and now it constantly warns low level would indicate to me that it is not fitted to your car.

Yeah it happens sometimes :cool:

I did the same on my VW I assumed I had a sensor for some reason and enabled it. It just lit up all the time. When I had the bumper off I don't have the sensor. VW/skoda tight asses.
