Thought I ought to finally sign up, since every time I do a google search for some info on my car, this site usually points me in the right direction.

Currently on my third (consecutive) petrol Octavia, so obviously I like them.

First was a metallic grey-blue (can't remember the official colour) T reg 1.8 SLXi, which I picked up as an ex-demo at about 15 months old in mid-2000. Ran that until December 2001, when I traded it in for a Y reg Mk 1 vRS, about eight months old and another ex-demonstrator. Changed that in May last year for another silver vRS, this time a Mk2, again an ex-demo (you might detect a pattern here!) about nine months old.

My brother suggests my continued purchasing of Octavias shows a stunning lack of imagination; I say if it ain't broke...

Anyway, with careful driving at the moment I get more than 50% better fuel consumption than his Land Rover Discovery can ever get, which at today's prices gives me plenty of bragging rights
