Sorry Typo, I meant 12v, I have ordered the 6v and am now concerned my penny pinching was a mistake, I have the 2.0 TDi Octy and this is for the missus.

What's the specs on the 6v I assume 1 in and 1 out valve per cylinder. is ther emuch of a power difference.

Hi again, duty anorak here.To reply to cheezmonkhai, amongst others maybe, the differences between the 6V and 12V engines are 1)10bhp,2)2 valves per cylinder and 4 respectively, and 3)5-7 ft/lbs of torque(pulling power). However,to read the difference in performance between the two otherwise identical models,it is clear that the bald figures themselves do not tell the whole story. To cut 2 secs off the 0-60mph and add 7 mph to the top speed of what is after all a far from sporty car, something else must play a discreet but noticeable part.Since the emissions figures are the same for both models(140g/km CO2) then the higher-powered engine must be more efficient.I refer to a measurable property of an engine called BMEP(Brake Mean Effective Pressure) which is a useful measure of an engine's breathing efficiency.Since,as mentioned above, the chief physical difference is 2 versus 4 valves per cylinder, plus some ECU remapping, then it would appear that the BMEP of the more powerful engine is much stronger.Sorry for the sermon, but I thought this may help.:)

i have 1.2 70bhp and its very nippy, can get over a ton out of her and is very economical, i would defo recommend it! tax and insurance would be cheaper too!

Thanks All, I have cancelled the order as I have found a 1.9 TDI fabia I combi 2007 with 40K on the clock for 4.5k Euro.
