Not especially.

I had my cat removed and run a dragon tuning box and dont get any smoke except when booting it hard in 3rd or 4th

p.s. de-cat does make it stink though, like an old bus.

but it loves to rev high

On a diesel there is no emmisions test so it's irrelevent as far as the MOT is concerned.

Petrol is different, with the vast majority of cars you will be hard pressed to get it through emissions without a CAT

and with a sports cat? what gains and increase in emmisions?

probably around 10bhp gains on the 2.0 tfsi? but dont hold me to it.

diesels only gain a couple of bhp, but the car revs a lot more freely with it removed... and smeels like an old bus when you get out haha

more smokey? you ask as if that is a bad thing, lol

not really - but if you want to get serious (or unbalanced depending on your viewpoint) - decat and remove the rear box as well....
