Powder coating -

Featured Replies

Well just dropped off my mesh from my milotec grill to be powder coated.

It was silver and I sprayed it black many a time until I got so annoyed with stone chips that it just has to be powder treated.

Got a bit of a shock with the cost £20  lol, but anyway I left it with him. Is that the going rate or am i being a little harsh?

How much have people been charged for a set of alloys?

I thought £20 for that was cheap. For alloys you are loking more like £100 per wheel, mainly because it needs more preperation and more materials in the powder coating.

Well considering that both side are less than 0.5m sq'd in area i was thinking like round the £10 figure

I'm going to get a quote for doing the wheels later, cut a deal.

The workshop was unbearable with the noise from the blaster tho

£10 - that would barely pay cost of the materials, let alone the labour for prep and finishing :)

i paid £20 to get a pair of these done, remember that would include a couple of hours in the curing oven too! :D

Guy up here powdercoated my alloys (couple of years ago) for £40 each to a very good finish.

and A friend has just had a quote on 4 x 18" subaru wheels at £220 including removing the tyres, refitting valve and balance.

not always as expensive as you think.

I wouls have thought £20 was a reasonable price to be honest mate

Yep, £20 is probably a minimum charge to be honest. I normally pay between £20 to £50 for little odds and ends, depending on the prep needed. :)

Yeah just a bit of a shock when your dad works in a car repair specialist and I've never paid for paint, ever... haha

Anyway, well pleased with the finish and he's also quoted me about 30-35 a wheel. Just need to decide, white or silver? Ive got black magic btw
