Phils - Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Been on here a while and thought I would post some pics of my VRS, I tried to post in the members car section but I wasn't allowed!!! what’s with that?

Anyway I had my VRS for about 2 months after selling my TFSI 07 Leon because of the stupid running costs for it and the increased TAX. Anyway I saw this 04 plate VRS on ebay..... went looked at it and brought it there and then for a snap up price (after looking at what they’re going for now) after that I have done a few things but not too much.

It has had a new front bumper ( There was a repair done on the front that was rubbish and required a complete respray)

New rear bumper - Same problem but there was also some bad soot damage.

front LCR splitter

Black magic fog surrounds

Black Magic Grill

Black outline Headlights (as the origonals were going yellow)

Diamond Vision bulbs 5000K

Octavia Alloys powrder coated gunmetal with VRS centre caps

Weitec coilovers

jabba Rear Anti-roll bar

Comments welcome :)

Looking quite smart, if a bit low IMO. Are you going to do anything about the front badge?

Very nice car(s)

Looks lush.

Did you do the headlights yourself or buy them?

Look at that rather sexy blue car in the photo i wonder who's that is :)

do either of you have sump guards have you had any problems?

No neither of us do, as far as I am aware Chris has only had one problem, on the way to the POD with the bumpy roads, Mine is a little higher at the front with the coil overs only sitting half way, I have had no problems, but I do drive looking infont and do avoid things like ironworks and so on.

looks nice, dark alloys suit the silver car ,just being a bit picky but the colour match on the front and rear bumper is slightly out its slightly darker have you noticed this yourself?

brought them from the bay, £100 for the set. Thay go realy well wit the black grill, i think thay look a lot better in the flesh, a lot more agressive front look.

That looks really well! Has a nice stance to it. I really like the rear 3quarter picture.

only a little, you will almost never get it compleatly. I also had it sprayed off the motor so i knew it would be slightly diffrent shade, you would never notice if i hadn't of said. :)

No i dont mind you putting pics up mate

that looks really nice, not sure on the black grill or headlights but the wheels and stance really set it off, go a bit lower tho :P:rofl:

The back is as low as it goes, but i think that might settle a little more yet.

Looks good that

Oh, you can't post in Member's Cars unless you're a Freedom member BTW

Did you do the Black Magic fog surrounds yourself? What preparation etc was done?

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks for the Thing on the FREEDON membership, I am not really wanting to pay a membership as i already run my own club with mates and that costs £££ but thanks for clearing that up.

Yes I preped and sprayed the grill and fog surrounds myself.

1. Removed them from the car,

2. Sanded them down with 180 and then again with 320 wet and dry.

3. 4 coats of primer leaving 30 mins for each coat to dry. Left them to dry over night after the last coat.

4. I applied 3 coats of Halfords Skoda Black magic, alloying 30 mins to dry between each coat.

4 left to dry for 1 hour and then applied 3 coats of clear lacer allowing 30 mins between each coat.

Really nice car mate. Loving the black/grey alloys with the silver paint.

Hmmm... I am liking the idea of spraying the fog surrounds.!

Think I may give that a go this weekend.??

oh it'll go lower if you take the adjusters out

If you have wrecked your undertray your sump will be next! there is nothing inbetween them! My undertray is still in one piece but i still have a mark on my reinforced sump! I check mine all the time and remember what rounds i catch on and avoid!

Both cars are looking great, fancy doing a photoshoot sometime?

Which type of Weitec coilovers are you running, ahd what is the ride like on them.
