evening all

Featured Replies

Hi got my first skoda last wednesday and currently quite impressed with it, massive improvement over my old 306:tongue2:

its a 1.9tdi slx (110) estate 102000 miles on it, need to replace the glow plugs and the AirCon/powersteering tensioning ram thingy(technical name that is).then after that thinking of maybe a putting a VG turbo in, remap(would prefer a piggy back chip though), and stiffening the suspension up...however those things will probably be costly, so the pikey elephant hose will do for the minute

Welcome! Looks like you picked the right colour :D

Why a piggy back chip?

evening! I wont pretend to understand half of that - but will say "oooo shiney" instead

i do alot of long distance driving, so want to be able to change between decent mpg and having alot more poke

so really its just a fuel saving idea

sme remaps do both, more power and more mpg .

and a 110 should go to 130bhp quite happily.

Hello and Welcome.

welcome

Hiya. Are you sure the glow plugs are dead? Mine has been smoking for about 5s on a cold start pretty much regardless of the weather.

yeah changed the glowplugs today and 2 were dead, had a word with my mechanic mate and he said the tensioner thingy was alright

I actually suspect one of mine is; when I start it in cold weather, it starts on 3, then the fourth joins in before I can select first.
