I need info please more BHP

Right at the moment i have a re-map, pd 160 intake and green cotton filter!

Whats next i was thinkin FMIC? what you think or is there something else i want b4 this?

re map should be saved till last. have you thought about an induction kit, bigger injectors and then the remap?

You don't need more bhp, you need driving lessons and it doesn't cost any more on your insurance.

What you need is a new exhaust, a bigger intercooler and a new remap :)

Bluntly put but right & its a mod you can take to your next car for free

And another :+1: for leaving your remap until last (well, a custom one at least...)

The remap's the only thing on your list that will boost your power, and the FMIC will not have any positive (possibly a marginal negative) effect on bhp either - although it will help you 'keep' peak performance in warmer weahter.

You do need better brakes, and this plus advanced driving instruction will help you go faster as you will be able to brake later and harder for corners...

FMIC isn't essential until you decide to invest in a bigger turbo and the extras that entails. There are people running around with Ibizas and Golfs, still on the factory SMIC with hybrid turbos.

I'd say budget for....

1) Clutch

2) Hybrid turbo

3) Decat downpipe.

4) Intercooler upgrade.

5) Remap.

BTW: If you've got the standard suspension, the car won't feel at all safe with those mods if you give it some stick. Depending on your driving style, think long and hard about brakes too.

312mm cope very well unless you are tracking it - even then with the right pads theyre up to the job.

Not very expensive either.

Driving lessons or a different car ;)

Sell it and buy an Octavia!!!

done a lot of track work with 312's on have you?

312's are more breaks than you will ever need,i run standard tt discs and ferrodo ds2500 pads, they provide awesome stopping power all day long on track or road, and een after 2 trackdays a trip to the ring 17 laps, and 6000 miles general driving they still have 70% on them. They are a must, before anything, then jabba arb, coilovers clutch, single mass flywheel, peloquin atb dif, front and rear strut braces, seat cupra bushes, then some instruction, and then more power:thumbup:

Or maybe a better car out the box and save your self a fortune;)

Get an ECO TEC widget.

but that would be sooooooooo preditable:rolleyes:

ARB's so you can carry more speed through the corners and a cheap strut brace , make the most of what you have before thinking of more ( all this coming from a guy with 320 bhp ... pot, kettle )

I don't wish to start a debate on brakes, but the standard 280 mm brakes are adequate for a mapped car, they just don't 'feel' adequate.

they are no good at all for track work tho, they throw in the towel after 5 mins:D

its all very well saying you need more bhp, but isnt it more important to increase the torque ?

Forget bhp, forget torque.

A Fabia with really good suspension, good brakes, wide stance, RARB, good set of tyres will be more than enough to scare you whilst driving.

Learn to control your car before getting big mods. Your not going fast enough unless your tyres squeel.

Also, get a limited slip diff rather than a turbo. Theres more than enough power from a vRS, it struggles to put it down as it is, and no chance round roudabouts.

Wrong lowering the air temp will still make more power as his turbo has already been mapped and out off optimal efficency

in petrols -10of is = 1%hp

so thats about 10.4% increase

which is about 18hp but i remap to increase the boost a little more would further increase the gain

so option is fmic+map (poss clutch)

hybrid turbo fmic+map (deff clutch)

but you will need to take these figures with a pinch off salt but bottom line he will make power

then injectors flowing ect..

sorry about spelling

FMIC will make the car slower. more pipe work more volume of air to shift= more strain on the oem turbo.

you only need a fmic with a hybrid turbo! the standard smic with pikey mod 2 is quite up the job for a standard turbo

check the figures the standard turbo was never designed to be over run as they would make the peak efficency zone for normal boost pressures. if anything a hybrid turbo lowers temp as it has a bigger compressor wheel. intercoolers give power. that why staged fmic + remap kits give more power than a remap. its been proven loads off times but if i remember the p mod has not?

Ok whatever,

So all these people running hybrid turbos on the fabia have just happend to waste loads of money on a Fmic. including myself.

Trust me on this one a Fmic kit will reduce the cars actual real world performance. morrrrrrre laaaaaaaaggggggggg!

your right they will be lag for an extra 1-200rpm as been mentioned in other threads but the extra 20-30hp qouted by the derv doctor or the 19 hp quoted allards should make up for it but granted would still need it mapped to reach these figures.

I'd go with the pros

also i know that a bigger intercooler will benefit a bigger turbo as lowest possible temps are the best.

when you buy a turbo and over run it makes more heat because its out off the peak efficency. a small turbo runnin 15psi will generate more heat than a big turbo a 15psi but the same temps at say 20psi as as its in optimal range.

i never said a fmic was a waste of time its the first logical step for power economy and reliability.

theres a reason why the big power skylines have massive fmic's.

your a smart lad im sure you can read a compressor map if you cant i can suggest Maximum boost by corky bell is a good read for any turbo owner
