Featured Replies

does it matter which side your rear fog light is on...

Because having two on, and as powerful as the brake lights makes the latter less conspicuous. You don't fancy being rear ended in the fog, don't you?

If they are used properly (which 99% of people don't/don't know how to) this wont happen, as when they have caught you up and can see you, you should the turn the fog lights off so you are not dazzling them!

Fog lights are for severely reduced visibility ONLY, if you can see the car in front then they are not needed.

You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see Rule 226) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves.

Are the front lights on the Eligant, spot lights or fogs?

Stu did mine was well - that was after I asked the Dealer to enable both when the Octy was serviced, they said it wasn't possible to have both

Well that's why 99% of people + the extra 1% are not allowed to have two fog lights, unless it's an older car that happened to be built that way. People do forget, but it's as simple as taking one bulb out to make sure it doesn't happen.

As far as I know, in the US they ban rear fog lights completely for the same reason. People never turn them off when there's a car behind.

mine are both enabled, but i must be the 1% who switch them off when a car comes up behind me as its a pet hate of mine.

They are fog lights, it should be obvious as you have to pull the light switch out to turn them on:thumbup:

There's no such thing as spotlights on a road going car. You can only have low beams, high beams, markers and fog lights at the front. Well signals too, but those are normally not on when driving straight.

Thanks for that. You learn something new everyday. :orb_cool_
