Anyone running 4-pot callipers?

Is anyone running 4-pot callipers?

I've been offered a set of Porsche Boxster 4-pot callipers for a reasonable price, the same kit that Awesome supply:

They come with calliper carriers, a new set of pads and the callipers have just been powder coated. They just need some new 312mm discs.

Is anyone running this set-up?

Are the callipers the same as the Brembo's used on the Leon Cupra R?

why wast your dosh on something that is the same size as whats already on the car?

y not stay on the std bits and save a bit more and get some bigger breaks?

but if the price is good then y not.

I would like some of them only in green like std and bit bigger than the ones I got now ie. 335mm disks with calipers to match.

good luck wi it though mate

Those 6-pots are nice but way more expensive than the 4-pots!!

I realise the discs are the same size as standard but could I not expect a reasonable improvement in stopping power using the callipers?

The standard calipers are very good indeed, but yes you should get a fairly big improvement on your braking power with the 4 potters.

Your only problem might be from too much heat build up in the standardish discs with that set up.

I know if I had 18" rims on mine i'd go for the bigger disc set up....looks much better!!

Your call though.

Steve:)

p.s. brakes are an area on a car which you should never cut corners on. My brakes are awesome, but if I ever got bigger rims (18") i'd upgrade to the 355mm discs in seconds!

I've personally gone for better pads and discs of std size. Get some good fluid in there too and TBH you'll never know, unless your tracking or really enjoy that stopping sensation.

That said better anything never hurts. Just ensure your putting good pads in them or it will be for nought.

discs size isn't the be all and end all of it.

spose not but it looks better, for the power the car gets unless you got big turbo, i cant see the reason to get diff breaks, jus go better discs n pads. unless you got the dosh.

tis up to you what ever, doesnt really matter what others think......

nice to know thou lol
