RE: Standard 2.0 TFSI intake

Featured Replies

While looking around my car today and cleaning it i was looking at the intake, the part at the front. I noticed when looking not only does it supply air to the air inlet but it goes straight through into the engine bay obviously feeding it fresh air. If that was blocked off would it not improve the air pressure into the intake as a lot of the air "rammed" is going into the engine bay?

Save yourself the bother and buy a proper intake.

hate to answer a question with a question, but surely if that had any decent peformance increase VAG would do it as standard?

Well if these uprated intakes do actually work i would say doing a mod blocking off that part of the intake would have to do some good.

I believe the bottom outlet is to let water out plus allow cool air into the engine bay.

As Harry says get a proper intake such as an EVOMS which uses the standard intake to pressurise a "box" around the air filter.
