cool thread.. shame some feckless chumps on here still wont get it....

:rofl:

My brains not working at the moment so I'll leave reading it till later but great find. :thumbup:

This may become useful in some threads in the fabia section :rofl:

Edit. Just had a quick read. Again this is why I dont understand why TDI owners go on about high torque when its at 2.5Krpm when if you change gear at peak power, around 4Krpm the revs drop to 3Krpm where in fact a mapped PD130 will produce around 250lbft.

That is a very interesting read. Thanks for posting

Very interesting :thumbup:

Still, it would be so boring if it instantly stopped all the tedious threads wouldn't it :rolleyes:

Huh, get what? Rimz, dump-valvez, nicked, a GTI front, 6kw bulbz, a rear-wing, 15% off a Half-rods wheel-and-tyre package, more benefitz, BOGOF in MaccyD's, furry dice...I still don't get it.

You realise that this is like waving a red flag at a bull, starting up the derv vs petrol dispute, and attracting fabia-hater comments.

Good read though.....

I don't see how the article can invoke anything. It says power is power, torque is torque, gearing affects how well you accelerate....

My brain hurts. ;)

same here?

WHAT?!? You'll be bringing in logic and common sense next.

Fantastic website. A really interesting read, along with some of the other articles on it. Good find!

Actually, it does explain TDis quite beautifully.

Redneck will be faster than Ricer with a given transmission, and a normal road diving style where you don't try and take every corner in best gear for power out.

WHAT?!? You'll be bringing in logic and common sense next.

I apologise unreservedly :rofl:

The article is good though- makes a good job of explanation.

well done, hit the nail on the head there :rolleyes:

you are obviously on of the aformentioned chumps :D

Found this and I think it's a really good read, althoguh it still does not explain the Fabia phenomenon...:rkick:

Horsepower and Torque - Craig's Website at Backfire.ca

Hi ColinD,

Thank you for this posting of this artcle which is so easy to read here, and easy follow.

Very interesting, and I will print this one off, and probably be reading it in bed, when I am relaxing. We need more of this here.#

:rolleyes::thumbup::) Soviet

:rofl:

Does that mean we can post a link in any Fab vRS vs. CTR threads, and then close them?! :woohoo:

yeap ill take a look when my brain is more engaged, but thanks for the great find!!

Australian engines obey the exact same laws of physics as American engines. The only real distinction between the two is that Aussie engines are designed to run upside down.

:rofl::rofl:

Nicely written article that, about the best explanation I've read. :)

Nice to see the guy has a sense of humour too...
