Hey People,

Picking up my 54 plate Fabia Vrs this weekend and already thinking what mods need doing etc.

I already know about the Pd160 intake pipe, and doing the rear anti roll bar to make it handle better. But I was thinking about new clutch and adding a Magnex decat..

So any ideas? Plus anything that I should double check when picking up the car on sat (ie tipical faults etc)

magnex have gone bust - their stock has been bought by by this company - you may bag a bargain..

OK, Just purcahsed a Magnex Decat pipe, and looking at getting the PD160 stuff (been quoted £70) so i might just make it out of samco hoses that i have laying around + purchase the front plate bit to allow larger connection.

Im looking at getting a ARB for the rear, any idea of price etc?

Don't bother doing anything to the intake until / unless you're planning to tune the engine - it's expensive enough as it is, and the mouth is the lion's share of the cost anyway. Likewise, your OEM clutch will probably be OK for many more miles at standard tune, and I'd put the decat exhaust in the same box as the PD160 intake for now...

IMHO, while there's no reason not to fit the ARB now, I'd save everything else until just before you get your remap (assuming you're getting one: sounds like you will eventually), get them all fitted at the same time and then have the map coded to make the most of them. Otherwise you'll just be spending the intervening period paying increased insurance for mods that don't make any real difference until the engine's tuned.

Oh, and you'll need better brakes at that point too!

In terms of ARB costs, there are only two manufacturers: Jabba and Whiteline, so do a web search on that basis.

I know the post above said dont bother doing anything, but I have decided to fit my downpipe/decat.

Now making my own intake pipe out of samco hoses as the £80 from seat is a rip off. Looking at a larger intercooler, lowering springs, full exhaust + rear anti roll bar to be finished off with a revo remap. (then upgrade to cupra r brembro brakes)

Well im happy with the decat (baring the sound). Revs nice, keeps the mpg and goes a lot better in general. The sound isnt loud, its just the turbo whislte that annoys me. So bloody loud....

Anyway, Does anyone have a exhaust system for sale? magnex would be good? plus anyone from KENT that can recommend a revo remap place?
