Hello

just got a Skoda fabia combi sport 1.416v done 3200 km 2008

is it normal if you engange the clutch fast in 1. gear it makes a noise from the gearbox ?? is like if you can hear the gear wheel or what you call it makes a kind of rattle, which goes away when the cluth is fully engaged

if i use the speeder pedal it do not make that kind of noise. you know.. clutch and gas at the same time.

it do not do in reverse only in the 1. and 2. gear.. cant hear it in 3. maby because of the speed :)

and also.. :)

it i set the gear in netruel and disengage the cluth i makes a clonk sound.. not to loud just a little bit.. it do not do it when the car is turned off.. only when it is turned on.

Maby it is just me being to picky ? :)

Sorry for my poor english :)

and iam also new to this site :)

Great site btw !

and yes i know i posted it in fabia II forum :) but i get no response so i try here :) hope it is ok ?

It doesn't sound right. If the car's only done 3200km, is it not still under the manufactuer's warranty though?

hello :)

yes there is still warranty 1½ year

but the sounds do not sound very badly... you can just hear it when it is in the garage..

enybody got the same engine as me ?? that could test it ?

the gear rattle is almost the same sound as when you put it in gear when the engine is off... you know :)

You mean it's a synchromesh click type sound yes?

yeah i think.. the "klonk" sound... is it normal ?? i guess i normal that i will make a sound when you put it in gear... damn my english is poor :) heheh

it change gear with out a problem or sound.. when driving.. only 2 fingers er required to change gear.. so it is very smooth.. it is just the sound in first gear... and the second.. depends on how fast i engage the clutch, but it is properly just normal... i think :) hehehe

i guess it is the sound i makes when the gears make contact.. not a very loud rattle.. but you can hear i you are parked next to a wall..

I learned to drive on a car with a slightly weak first gear synchro; concentrates the mind beautifully when you know you need 3s to get first when you're rolling. It sounds like this is a similar issue, and is most likely down to all the gear tolerances going to the one end of their range. If the deale accepts that it's a fault, it's a new gearbox job, and if they don't it will probably "ride up with wear".

ride up with wear what does that mean ?? :)

it is only when the car is parked and the engine is on in neutral gear.

if i press down on the clutch and then release i can i a klonk sound...

is that normal ??

and the windows has to be roled down other wise i can not hear it :)

"Ride up with wear" is a British joke, meaning that something improves rather than gets worse with use.

I'm not sure there's anything to worry about, but, if your consumer rights law works the same way as our's does, then raise it with the dealer, and if they can't resolve it, you're covered even if something relevant breaks out of warranty for any reason other than normal wear.
