also what pads to go for with the disc of ur choise? or dunt it matter?

I am in the same position, Standard disc are worn bad. I am thinking of the Tarox G88's around £208 quid. August Redline mag did a test on Black Diamond, EBC and Tarox. The vehicle was a 2001 Audi TT 225 which is the same BHP and disc size as my motor so is a could comparison. The Tarox G88 came out best for bite and feel over the EBC 3GD combi ones. (only slightly). The Black Diamond came third and only lost out slightly on bite. The artical was very in depth and tested the car with each set of discs after a bedding in period. The car was subject to a 80 to 0 run. All EBC,Tarox and Black Diamond lasted 20 runs while stadard disc made 15. Although the Tarox won the day marginally, Redline are still recommending either EBC or Black Diamond as a cost effective alternative. You can get EBC on EBAY for approx £160.

EBC used Red stuff pads(which are the only ones I think with the standard warning indicators on).

Black Diamond recomend there one Fast track pads, although they would would'nt they, same with Tarox.

Although I am told EBC red stuff are pretty good for less brake dust.

yep they are.

Hi

My son has the EBC groove discs and red stuff pads fitted on his MR2 Turbo and he says there cracking, look good too:thumbup:

Steve

When mine are up will be replacing them with Tarox G88's and relevant pads

I wouldn't have EBC pads ever again.

I'd go with the Black diamond disks, and a set of tarox or red dot fast road pads. I dont know if you rag it a lot, but if so, perhaps more track orientated ferodo ds2500 pads would suit. Personally, i think the fast road pads are your best option. never known anyone to use tarox 'predator' pads, so cant comment on them, but they're probably ok.

Tarox G88's with Tarox fast road pads, fantastic feel and stopping power in all weather conditions.

Cannot fault them on my octy vRS.
