Voluntary excess is £350 but i know they'd prob add about £500 to that as im under 21. dont plan to have a bump though - fingers crossed

Hopefully mine will be around the same next year then. At the mo, 19 no NCB, £1700. lol

mine is 295 fully comp full nc

Very cheap indeed. Mine's £750 full NC, aged 30.

Am currently looking as my renewal is midnight tomorrow. If it werent for the mods i wouldnt have looked, but got quotes with mods that are cheaper than my renewal without them!

think mine's about £300 fully comp with full ncb...

Im with the post office and was already insured on a peugeot so just paid the extra when i insured the fabia. Best quote i got was £225 full comp.

Thats full no claims, clean licence and over 21 lol :P

Excess was £100 i think

mine is currently with Post Office, AutoTrader have undercut them by over £100 though

Mine's under £200 fully comp, but I am very old :o with full no claims!

Mine on a Modified Elegance...

19 years of age.

No NCB.

With 2 other adults (over 50's)

£900.

But cant afford to cough that upfront...

So went monthly and now paying an Extra £300...

So... £100 a month.

£500 voluntary excess, £400 compulsary.

Was £1200 less than anyother quotes.

Score.

190 fully comp with full no claims

Just switched from Tesco, who I've been with for 2 years to Halifax. I got a 2005 (54 plate) standard vRS. Tesco wanted £899 off me to renew this year (it was only £650 last year!). I've got an additional years NCB now and a clean DL. When I queried the £250 hike they said it was because there have been more claims in my area this year and then said they could reduce it from £899 to £750 and throw in a £30 voucher for good measure (they gave me a £50 voucher last year!). A quick trip to confused.com came back with Halifax as the cheapest with a quote of £433.

I'm 30 with full NCD. Fully comp, my basic premium was £246 on my 07 plate Vrs SE. But I added on Legal cover, protected NCD and put my excess down to £100, which put the premium up to £321 with Priviledge. Even with the extra bits added on they were still substantially cheaper with most other insurers quoting inthe region of £400!

To you £80 is a big difference between insurance companies.

For me its differnces of Hundreds or even thousands. lol

Proves everyone needs to shop around all the time.

Only renew your insurance if its the cheapest quote you have/ has everything you are wanting, and is good value to money.

cant beleive they are charging you 300 extra for mthly..:finger:

I cancelled my renewal yesterday. Post office finally came back with a renewal going up from £534 to £800!!!! for just wheels and coiles! So told them where to shove it and gone with Autotrader at £405 with the wheels and coiles, fully comp, commuting, legal cover, breakdown cover, courtesy car thrown in as well.

If it werent for putting the mods on I would never have looked around and just let them auto renew!

Trust me mate I've been there:(.

The insurance quotes I was getting at 19 were ridiculous but more so for performance cars even back then. I remember being quoted £750 a year TPFT to insure a Fiesta XR2, £1650 a year fully comp to insure a mk2 Golf Gti 8v etc, etc.............

But like you say it can differ between hundreds or thousands of pounds depending on the company which quotes you. My first 2 cars were relatively cheap to insure by todays standards; Talbot Samba 1.0 £320 TPFT (anyone remember those:O); Austin Metro 1.3 £530 Comp at 19 years old. I Had a Vauxhall Carlton 2.0 CDX (ok not high performance, but was anice car back then) at 20 and that cost over a grand fully comp to insure..............

It's only the last 3-4 years I've seen my premiums drop substantially on higher performance cars. My last car (bought 2 years ago) was a Gen5 Toyota Celica GTi-16, rated at insurance group 15 cost me £355 comp. At 19 most insurers would have just laughed at me for trying to get a quote for this before hanging up:O.

I do apprecaite that premiums for young drivers (whatever the car) have become more and more ridiculous and way over the top in the last few years:(
