Searching for info - how to retrofit a rainsensor / auto wiper in OCY II ?

Featured Replies

My Octy II, 2.0 TDI "is missing" a rain sensor / auto wiper.... Due to a car crash - and the delivery time on a new car - I bought a new car which already was delivered to the dealer - without the Rain sensor / auto wiper.

However, my two previous Octy's had a rain sensor - and I am missing it slightly.

I found a crashed car, from which I can buy parts (including a rain sensor). I believe I must buy a mirror which has got the sensor - and a new front window. Is that all?

A dealer told me that some wiring from the control box to the position of the mirror is missing. And that they can not programme the car in a way enabling the rain sensor function (only the factory can).

Have any of you got information about - or even experience with -retrofitting a Skoda rain sensor in an OCTY II?

It's expensive, if you don't happen to need a new windshield for other reasons. Round here it's 300Euros extra for a rain sensor windshield vs a regular.

Thank you for your input! I am aware of the extra price for a rain sensor windshield; However, I am planning on "waiting" for another reason for the exchange (stone...)
