EBC greenstuff brake pads, any good?

Featured Replies

Weren't Greenstuffs the ones that fell apart under 'enthusiastic' use (apologies to you and EBC if not... :o )

Unless you're being doing normal fairly gentle road driving and want minimal dust at all costs I'd avoid them. I like EBC and even I won't buy the greens.

You should be able to get the EBC Redstuff Ceramic V3 pads for not much more and I'm currently very happy running these.

looks like I may be better going for OE replacement then, never had any problems with the brakes, and these front pads lasted 55k :) Thanks for the replies.

Just another vote against green stuff.

Tried em once and they made a hell of a mess.

Pagid Blues are good - been well tested by me round Knockhill :D:D

Yeah very messy and no better than others really.. Id stick to OE replacement :D

had the greens all round on mine before i fitted 312s up front now have reds up front and greens on the back

the brown mess that the greens leave on the alloys is harder to remove than normal brake dust so its back to oem once they wear out

Horrid. Ran them on my Polo GTi and they just ended up sweaking all the time, throwing a heck of a lot of dust back and generally being rubbish.

another here that thinks green stuffs are cr@p

I ran them on my golf before I sold it. Despite their claims of generating less dust, the amount off the greens seemed to equal the Pagids I had fitted before. The claims of improved braking - well I didn't notice any difference between the £50 Greens and the £15 pagids....

Yep.

Might as well have been using cheese.

If you can get Mintex Extreme these are the danglies for the money.

I used them their 'turbo grooved' disks and liked them. They threw out loads of dust when new, but then calmed down to almost none. But, I wasn't using them that hard, they were just there to help me stop on the M60 when yet another d$%khead cut me up doing a four lane exit manouver.

That is one thing that should be said for them. EBC do state they are for road use and not track use, so anyone who cooked them on a track can't say it was expected.

For the extra £10 though I'd always run the Reds if staying in the EBC camp.
