Diverter Valve Question (not the usual question)

Featured Replies

I have the standard diverter valve fitted to my Octavia and a forge blow off spacer (makes a lovely noise if thats your thing)

Am I right in thinking that if my OEM diverter valve failed they I wouldn't be able to hear the pshhhh noise when I lift off the throttle?

Dan

No, I think you'd hear it. Assuming you mean failure in terms of the diaphragm then it's not normally a total fail. If it failed electronically then that's different.

im thinking more along the lines of the diaphram parting completely from the solenoid shaft

you will hear it when you accelerate. You will get a constant hiss rather than a hiss when you lift off
