Octy tank size

I was under the impression that the octavia had a 55 litre tank(it says so in the handbook) why then does mine only fit 47 litres from empty( Light on and 10 to 15 miles left on the computer) to full. Any ideas?

If it's a diesel (only!) you could do the ventectomy mod and squeek in another few litres..

Yes its a diesel. Not that worried about it just wondering if all my gauges and computers are telling the truth. wondering if i may have an extra 8 litres in the tank and not know about it.

Because the computer is lying about how many miles you got left.

I let mine go to zero miles and then I cram about 52-54 litres in there.

Yes, 55 litres... light on is roughly 4-5 left-ish

Hi guys because its a new car to us, i asked my wife to take it as close to empty as possible the first fill up. She told me that the gauge was in the red and the computer was reading 0. Still 48 litres.

Once my light comes on no matter what the computer says i've got 50 mile range which equates to a gallon/5ish litres and i get in about 50 litres so it's just the computer trying to prevent you running it dry and all the hassle of bleeding the fuel system. Better safe than sorry as my mum says

I suppose that makes sense. Like when Jeremy clarkson took that audi a8 up to scotland and back on one tank. the car was showing 0 miles a long time before he got back to London. i Still Don't under stand why i can fit so little in the tank. hey ho i still get about between 500 and 550 out of the tank better mpg than my passat.
