Can anyone tell me how to remove the shift knob of a Skoda Octavia 2002 manual transmission? Please indicate detailed instructions starting from the boot all the way to the knob removal.:confused:

Unclip the plastic trim at the base of the gaitor/boot and pull it upwards so that it goes inside out. You will see that the knob is held on with a non re-usable clip, cut the clip off and the knob will come off the lever with the inside out gaitor/boot. You can re-fit it using a jubilee clip or strong cable tie. You may have to remove the ash tray assembly, I can't remember whether the trim is screwed down or not.
