VRS Engine Judder

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Notice the l;at few days that when the car is idling the engine judders/shakes occasionally, sometimes it is really noticable and other times it doesn't do it at all. There doesn't seem to be a pattern tho i.e. it doesnt only do it after long journeys or when its cold. Any ideas as to what it could be? The rev counter doesnt move at all.

Cheers

Jay

Mine does this too but i know mine is DMF related and will sort it out in 3K when its serviced.

same thing has happened to mine, and they have changed the setting on the ECU, it still does it slightly but no where near as bad as it was. My engine now seems to be idling lower at just under 800rpm.

How did you guys get on with yours, could this be anythin to do with loose engine mounts or worn bushes?

could be a worn dogbone mount.

I know Crispy changed his at around 35k for a standard item and he said it was much better all around.

Mines on 40k now and popping to the Seat Dealer for a Cupra TDI one soon.

I take it the cupra one fits the VRS? Any idea what the part number is?

Im guessing its a stronger one than the OE fitted to the VRS?

I did change mine but it was for a different reason - it was an attempt to cure a clunk when dipping the clutch and changing up a gear. The old one was quite slack compared to the new one and it did help but ultimately it was greasing the N/S gearbox mount that fixed it.

Juddering wise mine also does it but it seems to go away with the A/C on. Odd......

Apparently it's just one of those things that this engine does judging by what I've read on here. Quite common.

Is it the one from the Ibiza Cupra TDI anyone? Would it fit?

Mine does exactly the same thing. I wait with anticipation.

Anyone got any more information on this?

Mine does it too. Sure I read it can be cured by fine tuning the timing via the the vernier pulley maybe someone can confirm this or tell me I'm talking *******s lol

Does it do it ALL the time?

Does turning the engine off then on again stop it until idling for a minute or so again?

Yeah pretty much all the time I don't pay attention to it anymore to be honest. Never tried turning it off and on again but will try and let you know.
