Octy vRS Average Fuel Consumption??

Featured Replies

I average 25

Have seen 44, with all the extra weight and losses 4wd gives ;)

Come on lads, You's have got a vRS. I'm averaging around 28 - 30 mpg. Using my car as it should be driven. I never would have bought my car if I want fuel consumption although it is a lot better than other similar cars in its class. e.g, 206 GTI 180. My next door neighbour has just gettin one of these and he's gettin 20 mpg if he puts his foot down and averages under 30 mpg when driving normally. I think anything above 32 mpg isn't too bad.

Hi guys,

This thread is breaking my heart....

Early this year, we decided to buy a new car, My list was Octy vRS, Audi A4 TDI130 and lastly a Zafira GSi in that order.

Missus (she paid for the car) had Zaf GSi, vRS & would not entertain the Audi at all.

A storming deal from Vx saw me buy the GSi. If you're wondering a) Why I'm here & B) Why I'm telling you this in a mpg thread; then all will become clear.

The Zaf is now 7 months old and has reently been in the dealers for a host of niggles, none of which the dealer is able to fix (I wont bore you with the details).

However, more importantly and the reason for tagging this post is that I am getting 19mpg round town and have NEVER seen more than 30.1mpg even when driving like a nun on 11 points....

I have popped over here to see what you lot are getting before I prepare to sell up and defect to Skoda.

Oh, and if you hadn't fallen asleep by now and were wondering why my wife rated the Skoda second. It has light coloured carpets.....

I'll get back in my box now, thanks for listening.

Usual is about 33mpg but hey I drive motorways at none girly speeds :D

And yes, I know, I know, a Fab would be even better ... but you couldn't get all SWMBO's gear into a Fab :D

Actually its not much better. Almost makes me wonder if I really bought the right vRS

Any pics of your car Paul? :)

average 25-28 around town 35-42 on long journeys :thumbdwn:

Whats everyones average fuel consumption in their octy vRS? Mine was running badly the other week & fuel consumption was down to around 33mpg on an average 'not thrashed' run out. Went to dealer, they replaced the throttle body & average is now around 35 - 36mpg on a similar run. Before problems started, i was averaging around 38-39....???

Thats great mine does about 23 and less if i give it some!! Fed up of filling it up.

I get around 28 average. If i do a longish run it gets into the 30's. I think it is pretty good for the performance and size of the car. My old RS2000 was lucky to get into the 20's.

Its a standard silver Fabia, I'm sure you can find some pics ;)

Which basically means.... I cant be bothered to upload any at the moment :D

Hmmm.... :rolleyes::)

Lol, if you really wanna see one I'll post one up...
