What Tyre pressures for Octavia 4x4 Estate?

Featured Replies

I've currently got the tyres on my Octavia Estate 1.8T 4x4x filled with nitrogen to approx 32psi as they were set for my Golf.

I'm already impressed with the handling but I just wondered what tyre pressures other folks are using?

After much playing around, I found 34 all round to give the best setup, I found 32 to feel a little vague at the front.

Thanks, I'll give 34 a try.

Where did your oxygen go?

Where did your oxygen go?

What do you mean?

The tyres were filled directly from a bottle of nitrogen, the advantage is less moisture so pressures don't fluctuate so much with temperature.

Are you suggesting I should fill them with Nitrous Oxide!

Its an idea but no, i was referring to air being 79% nitrogen and 21% oxygen (roughly). Is it common for people to fill up tyres with nitrogen then?

Most performance tyre resellers offer nitrogen inflation for a around

As with Ian's advice, I started off with 32 and have stuck with 34 for the last year - the car was ok on track with these pressures as well - ie it lasted 6 laps before the back end got 'squirmy'!
