I was going back to my town this afternoon, when I came across 3 lads trying to push an old long wheelbase diesel land rover that was full of camping gear.

It turned out they could not get it into any gear and that possibly the clutch had gone so i asked them if they had a tow rope and they pulled out one of those web ones used for lashing down on trucks.

I screwed in my tow dolly and connected up and was really surprised that my car could tow such a weight it must have been over 2 tons, it towed it with ease for nearly 7 miles

Only 7 miles, thats nothing. Mr Tooth could have towed it much further Im sure

I think the tow weight for mine is 1200 I may be wrong but someone will correct me

The land rover is 2020KG.

I found out why they could not get any of the gears, the hydraulic reservoir had not been topped up and the system was empty.

They filled it up and kept pumping the clutch pedal until the reservoir was full:rolleyes:

To "skippy41" - DMF stands for Dual M@ss Flywheel . You do have it...

Land Rovers are prone to either the clutch slave cylinder or the master leaking, You can see the main cyl leaks easy as it pours down the pedal!
