Interior door handles

Featured Replies

Having just the classic, is it possible to change the interior door handles to the chrome ones, or even have them lit at night, just like the ones in the superb so folk can see them, and if so is the wiring plugs in the door to do it, and I read somewhere that you could switch off the motion locking, I think I will have to do that as folk seem to give the handles a dam good pull and if I am not quick enough to press the release button someone will end up snapping one

Can you also get the seat belt warning turned off

Search is your friend. Someone on here has fitted the lit handles. It looked a fairly simple fix if you don't mind taking a powertool to your trim.

I imagine the chrome would be a matter of ordering the right part.

IIRC, motion locking is selectable from Maxidot, or if you don't have that it's a trip to your dealer or someone with VAGCOM.

When the motion locking is on, tell your passangers to pull the door handle twice, the second will open it. No need to press the switch on the center console

When punters are totally p*ssed they don,t even know where the handles are :rofl:

Somebody done a conversion on here on a MK2 Octy with the lit up handles but can,t find the thread at the moment.

It looks easy to change the handles as well, thats if you dont have to disconnect any linkages or rods would the classic have the wiring loom in the front and back as it has wind up windows

Maybe no rear door looms would possibly have to check yourself.

I bet the 1.9TDI classic is faster than the other 1.9's due to having less weight.
