Was just looking this up for a friend and stumbled across these links:

Fabia

Octavia

Yep really good results, good to see the octy and furby do so well. I wonder where the VW's, Audi's and Seat's ended up.

The strange thing is that whilst the octavia is in the family car category, the Golf, Audi A3 and Seat Leon all come under small family car?

only confirming what we as owners already knew !

good stuff...

Mainly the reason i bought a Fabia over a Fiesta or Polo c/w What car's used/new supermini of the year 2000-2003.

Regardless of what 'platform' the Octavia is based on, it is clearly a bigger car than the Golf, Bora, Toledo etc. It is more comparable to Vectra, Mondeo, Passat etc than to any of the cars that it shares a platform with.

Again proving your point, William... ;)

With the Octavia there does seem to be a distinction - and a growing one, looking at the new Octavia - between technical platform and class.
