Rear Wash Wipe Not Working

Featured Replies

The rww on my 99 1.9TDI estate has started to play up. It will start to wipe, get about half way and then stop. The only way to get it back to it's normal resting position is to move it back with my hand, sometimes this dosen't work either. Any clues??

Buggered motor probably. I had the same on my A3.

Mine done that for a while. There's a link on here somewhere, on what to do, basically though, remove the trim from the inside of the boot lid, and you can see the wiper motor. There are 7 small torx screws holding the plate on it, remove these, you may get wet... my motor was full of 'rusty' coloured water ! Clean it out and grease it all librally, then put it back together.

Worked for me :)

I replaced the motor. No obvious water inside, but the old motor was a bit manky when I stripped it. If it's the same motor, the washer pipe can break inside the housing. A google for Golf rear wiper should sive a few hits.

As above,

Mine did this and I stripped it cleaned it and refilled with grease. One tip is to put a bit of ptfe tape around the bit that the washer jet fits into. Gives a better seal and less likely to leak again.

Cheers
