Headlight Mount

Featured Replies

I've been victimised by the crack Pigeon suicide squad.

One flew straight into my OS headlight and somehow knocked it off it's mount, the headlight unit itself is fine (not a scratch) but following the instructions here: http://briskoda.net/technical-guides/new-octavia-headlight-bulb-change/69565/ I pulled the unit out completely to remount it, and found that the plate that the unit slides into is cracked at the outside edge.

I've resecured the unit onto the plate but now the headlamp is no longer flush with the wing so I suspect the lamp unit is pushing out and going out of alignment.

My question is this, if nip down and get a replacement mounting plate, how hard is it to replace without screwing the lamp alignment up (I'm hoping someone is going to say I can just remove the broken one and put the new one in it's place)

I'm hoping to avoid a massive repair bill for work carried out due to a broken plastic lug thanks to a flying rat.

P.S. Octy is elegance spec with adjusting control.

Can anyone help?

to be honest if you are competant enough to remove and replace the headlight, then setting the lamp alignment will be easy enough for you.
