waxing in the wet

Featured Replies

washed and waxed the car will collinite today, as it was cool i decided to wax the whole car first then buff off. got halfway round then the heavens opened... well its beading really well and tried to finish it off with a wet microfibre cloth or 3 and think i have the excess off, just cant see till its dry really.

question is anyone else expereienced this before with collinite and how does it come out after its been rained and not buffed or buffed in wet?

i've done this with megs tech wax and jesus she looked feckin awful in the morning. Fingers crossed you get better results!

cheers, im getting worried now :( i took it for a drive earlier and when we got to our destination and the water had dispersed it looked alright, but then its been wet all day.

Well, at least you will be able to wash and polish again tomorrow :)

Got caught in the rain doing a car today myself  It looked terrible, the bits I tried to finish as the rain began was awful!

Managed to clear the garage out and get the car in but had to begin all over again to get the finish we were after to be honest.

That was nattys blue paste

well ill see how it looks in the morning.

Should be ok if you applied colly nice and thin...........

Sounds like you need to get a gazebo or a car port mate...........

I'd the same as missp - Tech Wax. Made a total pig's ear or it, had to strip it all off and start again fresh.

come on then what was the verdict thismorning?

if the car needs a wash bring it up this way - the water and the road are merging into one in worcester

well it looked spot on this morning, i did carry on trying to buff it in the wet yesterday and got soaked. but this morning was spot on and im sure others at trax will admit it looked alright apart from a bit of road spray from the drive up to it.

Colli doesn't react badly to the rain as it's a proper wax not a liquid wax :)

Certainly had a few spots half way through and so had to put the car under covers to finish off.

checked it in the dry today, the only bit i could find was on the edges of the boot lid between boot and the glass but its not that noticable and the next wash will sort that out anyway ;) but looked out half an hour ago under the security light and the water is beading really well like little pin pricks of water :D

i did put it on my xmas list but sinister has already said car bits/cleaning products and anything that is linked to the car in any shape or form will be banned so im not to even suggest it. :( however mate she never said anything about a fellow briskodian buying me one :D:thumbup::rofl:
