Featured Replies

Has probably been covered before but I cant find what I'm looking for so can anyone give me some advice on what to use to remove 'sticker' residue?

As usual, servisol label remover and an old clean cloth.

Available from maplin for about £5 a can.

Meant to say removal from external painted surfaces.

tar and glue remover ;)

if you can get industrial stuff, spray on, leave for a minute, wipe off and rinse.

Is it safe to use on a gloss painted surface such as a cars?

the stuff i use which is bought from a local chemical supplier is great on paintwork, probably removes wax aswell so after rinsing i recommend giving a polish.

Autoglym Tar and Glue remover should do the trick and is safe on painted areas.

Well seeing that I needed something quick I popped into my local Halfrauds and was alowed to try a couple before buying! The spotty little Oik that served me suggested that the Autoglym Tar & Glue remover was not as good as Sticky Stuff Remover and to my surprise he was right! A bit messy, but did the job

Btw, thanks for all the suggestions as I appreciate this subject has been covered many times before and although it may appear I've ignored your advice I had to get a solution quick as in my haste to remove the stripes i'd left hoooge areas of sticky residue :o

i agree with hedge, its good stuff. also use some hot soapy water and keep washing over the area lightly. if any still persist then use a microfibre cloth and gently rub over it.

remember to wax the area as there wont be any wax on it now.
