Binding brakes?

Featured Replies

Sounds like my brakes are binding when going no faster than walking pace. Anyone had trouble with this?????

Are they getting hot?

I had problems with the front pads in my Mk1 Octy vRS. The pads are stuck to the caliper and mine had come unstuck, so they were able to touch the disc face rather than being pulled back by the caliper. The result was a slight squeak at slow speeds.

In my case, new pads were the cure.

If its the rears, i've had a seized caliper and the slides often seize despite coppaslip. Calipers are less than £50 new and cure seized piston problems, Sliders just need stripping and cleaning.

I have the same trouble, this is after i have fitted discs and pads all round. (about 2k ago) Suppose it will go away when there worn some more lol.

I had a funny noise from the back which turned out to be the rear disks, they had started to corrode badly on the edges and the rust rubbed lightly on the caliper.
