20k variable service, what are these?

Featured Replies

Had my 20k variable service done today, air filter is my old one and they said the pollen filter isnt done till 40k:mad:

can someone tell me what these things are on the service sheet?

K06D115562 filterelem

KN90813202 screw

Z5000263 Mobil ESP variable

K1K2819653A Filterelement

They the only things i cannot work out as i know one of them will be oil filter, i dont have a clue what the screw is or for and im guessing esp variable is oil.

The xenon issue might have been solved, they tested it and said one light was slightly higher than the other and that was it. Make brake problem was not a problem to them (the spongyness) but did tighten up the handbrake cable (which feels no better) let the tyres down to 2.1 all around apart from the nsf which was 2.05 bars. car certainly feels sluggish now, might be the tyre pressures that ive now put back up to 2.3

Cheers

Screw is most likely sump plug. One will be oil filter and one air filter I'd imagine.

K06D115562 oil filter

KN90813202 sump plug

K1K2819653A pollen filter, de-odourising type with carbon impregnation? - I think.

This is what I would expect to see replaced on a 20000 mile service. Maybe they were not that good at explaining that the air filter is replaced at 40000 miles and you may have thought that they were talking about the pollen filter. They have prefixed the Skoda part numbers with K.

Doh! Fordfan beat me to it.

Looking at my 20k service invoice. (vrs, petrol).

K06D115562 filterelem - The Oil filter

KN90813202 screw - Sump plug

Z5000263 Mobil ESP variable - Oil

K1K2819653A Filterelement - Not on my invoice, no idea!

Ditto on the brake front, keep at 'em. If your brake fluids been changed of late might be worth finding out if they bled it right. I found a message on honest john where someone with a golf had a very similar issue. Was down to the dealer not bleeding the abs/master cylinder. Yet to get mine checked to see if its the reason though.

I'd compare mine, but as it's a lease we've only got the check list which only really shows everything is OK (in the eyes of the technician).

If they didnt touch the pollen or air filter, then that's the oil filter and the fuel filter you have there. Mobil ESP is the oil, the screw is most likely the sump plug. I don't remember if Skodas have the copper crush washer, looks like either it doesn't, or they didn't replace it.

I don't remember from mine, either.

The pollen filter is pretty easy to do if you're under 90 kilos, 10 kilos ago it took me under 15 mins to change it. It's under a flap secured with two tabs in the passenger footwell. Look upwards behind the glove box.

On a LHD car the fuel filter is under the right rear wheel arch somewhere towards the front of the car, and well hidden. I'd stick a large mirror and flashlight there, or a digital camera and take lots of pics to check if that's new.

Look for something like this, only with 2 in pipes.

cheers all, if it was the pollen filter it now explains why my car is misting up inside. when we went out earlier it misted up as if the car was wet inside and same on the return journey. any ideas how to cure this? the xenons seem slightly lower even if they are bouncing more. but the full beam seems to be the problem now as i cant see that well with them on on right hand bends and seems like i only have a left hand light only on striaghts, looks like they have pointed the lights to far left, certainly has cheesed me off.

Misting is almost always due to a blocked pollen filter. Did they actually change anything, or did they just charge you?

Might be worth calling in to another Skoda garage and telling them you don't think the other garage changed stuff you were charged for, I'll bet they'll get a mechanic to check there and then.

ive looked under the glove compartment, they have been there as a wire i had going under there was not where i had placed it and would have required the foam covering the pollen box to be pulled down for the wire to not be there so i know they have been there, will open it up during the week and check. just wondering if they have disturbed where the pollen housing comes into the car and water has leaked in as i washed the car once i got home. seems fine today!!

another quick question. Since ive had this service my mpg has fallen by 10-20% could this be to do with that they might have reset the ecu or done a software update (nothing of this mentioned on the paperwork)?

I'd swap the air filter myself as they really get a lot worse after 20k.

They are about £10 from a dealer for the genuine part and only a few screws to undo, whip the old one out and put a new one in. Just changed mine at 10k and while it didn't look solid black on the surface, on opening it up you could see the filter itself was filthy.

the air filter i have in there is a green filter and cleaned every 5k, certainly wouldnt leave a filter in there for 40k as they seem to be planning on.

It's a combination of maybe lighter foot and the fresh oil in there that's probably better (lower friction) than what the car originally came with. If the air filter was cleaned factor that in.

cheers, i thought with new oil filter and oil it would have made it run even better creating better mpg. its slowly improving but still under what i have been getting (see my sig).

well here is my update. after 160 miles im seeing the mpg return to what they were (hopefully they will improve further too). im not happy with the full beam now, it seems to point very sharp ahead to a pin point near the n/s kerb. waste of time for roads sweeping to right but ok for left. im going to leave the light isuue for another week and try and get use to it, but to be honest the full beam makes virtually no difference to dip, where as before service it lit both sides of the road and all the way up.

Hi,

I work at a skoda dealership as an apprentice technician (3rd year, :thumbup:almost qualified:thumbup:), a 20k varaible service (also know as a longlife service) Is basicly an extended service which is to be done every 20k or 2 years (which ever came first)

Your first 20k/longlife should consist of the following:

Oil (longlife oil)

Oil filter

Sump bung

Pollan Filter

The pollan filter on any A5 octavia should be changed every 20k or 2 years and the air filter does not have to be changed untill 60k (despite age of car)

Here is a quick run down on the parts which were fitted to your car:

K06D115562 filterelem (oil filter or pollan filter)

KN90813202 screw (sump Bung)

Z5000263 Mobil ESP variable (oil)

K1K2819653A Filterelement (oil filter or pollan filter)

The only thing I can't help you on is your brakes. In all my 3 years working for skoda I have never had an A5 come in with this problem. (Probbably because im the apprentice n I get all the **** jobs:mad:, but HEY ! ! ! world keeps on spinnin')

Only thing I can suggest is that you take your car to a dealership where they actually have a clue on what there on about....

Hope some of this info helped....

I thought Skoda were running the same schedule as VW which means the Pollen filter and inspection aren't due until 40k.
