Is there anyway of getting hold of the 2005 brochure (download maybe?)for a Octavia 1.9TDi Elegance? Trying to ascertain the full spec before viewing.

Could someone also tell me what the PD engine is? Is the 1.9TDi (105) engine a PD?

Yes , Both diesel engines are PDs.

The elegance should have cruise control , 16" Alloys , Climate control , auto dipping rear view mirror , rain sensing wipers , electric windows all round.

also, dual zone climate control, jumbo box (you may not have the mp3 socket as that was introduced later), front headlight washer and rear parking sensors.

The 16" wheels are the Vega Alloys, but it could have had the sport suspension upgrade which will come with 17" pegasus alloys.

Also the single disc Stream radio did not have an mp3 playing function at the time.

To be honest the spec is the same as it is now apart from the mp3 socket in the jumbo box and mp3 disc functionality in the radio, so you could still use that as spec guide.

front headlight washers? wheres the switch?

There isn't one, they work automatically in conjunction with windscreen washers when light are on - 1 headlight wash to every 5 windscreen washes if I remember correctly

Simply look for body coloured oblong plastic cover below headlights

a) Your lights are on and

You windscreen wahers are activated

They operate the first time you press the windscreen wash switch and then (I think) every fifth time after that to avoid the washer bottle emptying too quickly.

Isn't CD changer part of the Elegance specs? (mine has it but I bought it second hand, so not sure...)

cd changer comes with ambient and upwards

Would a copy of the 2004 brochure do, just checked the spec against my 2006 tdi elegance and it appears the same. PM me your address and i'll post it to you.
