Different Grille

Featured Replies

I bought a Fabia vRS and I have done absolutely nothing to it. This is because the car is very, very good. Colouring in the grille with a marker pen does not make it look better. Nor does cutting holes in the front and applying cheap wire mesh from B&Q. Why take something that is perfectly good and then try your best to make it look like a chav on acid has spent half a day with his deranged 'crew' making your car look 'sick' or 'hench' or even perhaps like a 'clungewagon'. !?

I'm really pleased you were able to find a car you like so much in standard form that you have no desire to alter it in anyway, that must prove that Skoda were on the ball when designing the Fabia vRS, but a few of us like to make things a little different.

Yes Colour coding the grill makes absoloutely no difference to performance, and is not to everyones taste, but i for one found it hideous in standard form as it was the only peice of chrome trim on the car. Had it been complimented with maybe some chrome fog light surrounds it may have looked better IMO, but it didn't and i prefered the idea of it being black.

I didn't immediatly decide to ridicule your completely standard car because you dare to keep the chrome surround, i merely chose to accept that you are happy with it that way.

I'm hoping maybe you could share the same courtesy to other members who own their own cars and the right to alter them in any way they see fit without hurting you or anyone else.

Cheers :D

By the way, most of the people on here who are happy to get the spanners out and alter their cars are the ones with the knowledge to help you out one day when you have a problem... something to consider maybe?

Just for you ;)

d_milek - let it drop now, please everyone, don't make this another "why ruin ya car" thread..

Though, I did find the copy & Paste posting from that thread quite funny!

Hey Dudes!

I've just fitted a totally radical grille to my Furbmeister Wagon. I think it looks mega cool. With the traction-control turned off, I swear you can actually tell the car is going a bit faster because of it!!!

So what "banned" user name?

I took mines one stage further and bought some cheap rattle cans from the local Netto. Also got red for my rotors. Me likes.... respect

Also picked up a cheap angle grinder and cut my springz in 'alf  then used some cable ties to keep em in position... i think it looks.... bitchin'

That's one nice looking fabia!! Nice subtle mods, i'm dying to see one with it's door handles removed. I'm very tempted to get mine done.

Thats looks exactly like how much i would like mine lowered. What did you lower it by?

cheers

Coilovers, right down on the back with adjusters in, fronts are 25mm above there lowest setting, just about the right height IMO i had it lower but it was undrivable

Chrome looks crap on any small car.
