Astra burn well....... ish

Featured Replies

Last night I was playing fireman sam (no not in the bedroom :P)

Neighbour's car decided to self combust via a shorted after market car alarm.

So me and the landlord from the pub over the road attacked the car with a crowbar and dry powder extinguishers before the fire really took hold.

Just so glad I spotted the smoke coming from the bonnet when I got in last night..... as I park next to the astra.

Guess the training I got in the forces never left me. We had it well under control before the fire brigade turned up.

Spot of T-Cut and an under bonnet Valet and it will be as good as new (Not that that would have been that great for an astra) ;)

Quite lucky as you say that you didn't park up next to it.

Is he going to sue you for damaging his car? :)

No... he was all hugs and hand shakes, as he had a load of stuff in the boot that was worth more than the car.

Nice work!

Isnt this a common issue that was on Watchdog?

Well done, could have been very nasty.

Got home this evening and the car was gone, and the space all tidy. Need to find out his insurance company, cause damn they work fast.

So, was first job break window and pop bonnet? As it looks like you crow-bar'd the bonnet as well. :)

Just curious how you did it, but it looked like a "proper job" as they say down 'ere.

Well done auroan - Goodjob!

As above - What was it? Just Smash the window > Pop bonnet > Too hot to lift so used the crow-bar?

What was in the boot :D

All in a days work eh?

Yup tried to pop the bonnet so we could get to the base of the fire, but it wouldn't budge. Next thing was to crow bar the bonnet so we could get the nozzle of the extinguisher in.

We were initially spraying under the wheel arch and up into the engine bay, but it kept re-igniting, hence the window/bonnet job.

Lad wouldn't say what was in the boot.... only that it was worth way more than the car and difficult to replace :rubchin:

Fireman auroan, almost a match for fireman sam.

I bed he had guns in the boot and a load of drugs.

One of those ultra-realistic sex dolls?

Why did I know it would go that way ..... lol

A stash of vintage pron? The plumbers found a 1970s Knave behind the hot water tank when we got the central heting done in our old house. WG Grace's beard had nothing on theirs! :D
