1.9 tdi Mpg?

Featured Replies

I ran a MkV Golf 1.9 TDI (105 bhp) for 14k miles (remapped for 8k miles) average mpg was bang on 50 mpg.... god knows how some of your get 60mpg+ out of them, the real killer is the lack of the 6th gear IMO

I've just changed my 1.9TD Ambiente for another one. I had it 4 years and it had covered 51800 miles when sold. I never used to alter the trip 2 (occassionally by accident) so average mileage would be done over atleast 10,000 miles often much more and it never dropped below 54.7mpg. Which I think is fantastic!

Going to work on a 15 mile trip (inc motorway driving) I would be upset if I didn't get above 70mpg. Coming home it would be more like 54mpg. Which I suppose suggests more hills!!

Economy is very good form this engine!

my ambiente estate shows an average on the trip computer of 55.3 mpg. Today on a 150 mile run (mainly motorway) ave speed 59mph, mpg 54.7, three people in the car and my tools fillied the luggage space.
