732 Miles on one vRS Tank

Featured Replies

I have just done 732 miles on one tank of BP ultimate.Used 54.85 litres at an average of 60.76 miles. Computer said 10 miles left when I refilled.

It was however a bit of an effort to drive so light footed.

Think I will drive a bit faster, I am happy when I get 55 mpg driving harder.

Very pleased with my 06 vRS:)

Well done. I seldom see t'other side of 50mpg, but then I don't like to hang about...

I'm lucky if I see 45mpg. I've got a serious medical problem though - lead right foot.

Being frugal is boring

Yea, it's a struggle to see 50mpg on the way home from work :D

Averages about 45mpg..

Indeed.

Even getting a shift-on, mpg is impressive for heavy-right-footage. :D

I filled my tank to the brim and got about 440 miles from a tank!!!! How can they be so far out?

I was driving normally and doing a mix of traffic and motorway driving.

732 miles is impressive. :)

i've been keeping a track of my mpg since april and the best i've got is 530 miles/58 mpg from one tank, without venting.

cheers matt

hi, 440 miles from a full 45 litre tank is ok, you need to vent to get the extra litres in and the extra range.

cheers matt

i'm lucky to see 400 miles before the buzzer and light comes on around Milton Keynes. Need i be concerned or is that pretty normal. Approx 48mpg average

the light and buzzer comes on with about 7 litres left in the tank, so 400 miles for 38 litres is as you say about 48 mpg

which is normal for everyday driving, ie not going for a long distance record and not booting it everywhere.

Once I managed to get 68mpg driving 125miles with the cruise control set to 50mph. It was interesting to see how frugle it could be. However, I still have fairly high testosterone levels, so its generally 400 miles before the shrill high pitched ping of death.

Ive tried to drive light footed.

Gave up after a mile.

Iv heard of people filling the reserve tank ? how is this done ?

Iv currently done about 270ish miles to half a tank from full

much better than the 180

:

do a search , plenty of threads about it , there is even a "how to" somewhere

In the Octavia I can get 237 :)

strange it must be only me who has to fill at 350 miles and i dont 'think' i drive like a loony

What's the most economical rev to keep a vRS at in 6th? 1900? Or max torque, around 2400?

Get around 400 out of mine before the fuel light comes on, standard map, pd160 intake pipercross panel filter, decat exhaust, ccv catch can, egr turned down.

thats a mixture of driving, probably 60% dual carriageway, 40% urban, some short journeys some long, and occasional WOT

trip is reading an average of 46mpg

Max torque is 1900, but on the motorway, mine stays at 2400, which is about 80mph and I get over 50mpg.

Basically, as you fill her up, press the little button in the top of the filler neck (RHS) and it lets air out and you can get another couple of gallons in there.

the max i can get is 525 KM (not miles) !!!....its not the best!!...wonder if theres something wrong with it!! :(

k:)

My fuel light came on when I was on way to work and have only done 370ish miles since filling up and I haven't been driving it hard either !!!

I'm seriously thinking of putting it back to standard power !!!

When my GPS was mapped i got better mpg than standard

I have heard that some of the newer Fiat diesel remaps do actually improve the MPG, as well as increasing the top speed by around 6-8 MPH.

I am considering this once my car is out of warranty.

For all you Fabia vRS owners, I found that my previous car in standard setup with Cupra 160 intake & panel filter was 400-420 miles before fuel beep reminder, this depended on driving style ( never ghost mode ).

On remap i was getting 380 - 400, however 1 full tank driving as a ghost got me back to 420 miles before beep.
